Charles Page and Kristie Darling, owners of Cool Spring Center, Inc. in Statesville , NC , along with Jim Wall, a leader experiential training, introduced a new and innovative training concept named the High-Ops Team Development Course ™ in 2002 . Cool Spring Center is the only training company in the U.S. to offer this futuristic concept in training to it's clientele of Fortune 500 companies.
Through a partnership with Cool Spring Center the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice has developed a similar model: TOTAL Training , T eam O riented T actically A pplied L eadership Experience. TOTAL is future oriented in its use of the latest law enforcement technology and the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice will be the first law enforcement training academy in the country to offer this unique concept.
The TOTAL Training Experience will utilize:
- High-tech, computer driven directives;
- Advanced Interoperability equipment and techniques;
- Complex problem-solving tasks;
- Innovative interdependent communication, teamwork and leadership skills development;
- Dynamic exercises to re-create real world leadership issues and situations.
The Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT) is a nationally recognized agency that provides state-of-the-art training to law enforcement officers in Kentucky . It is one of four departments in the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet.
The DOCJT provides entry-level and professional-development training for approximately 12,000 students each year, including city, county, airport and state university police officers, sheriffs, deputy sheriffs, coroners and law enforcement telecommunicators. DOCJT also offers training to officers from other state and federal agencies.
TOTAL Training is a first in public safety leadership training and the benefits to Kentucky Law Enforcement are:
- Extensive and unique leadership training;
- Can be used in homeland security training and technique development;
- Can be added to current courses such as the Academy of Police Supervision , Criminal Justice Executive Development, and School of Strategic Leadership .
